PLANO, Texas, April 4, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- PepsiCo's Frito-Lay North America division and Activision Publishing, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Activision Blizzard, today announced a groundbreaking, multi-phase promotion that unites Frito-Lay with one of the hottest new gaming properties in the world and one of the best-selling new video games in 2011, Skylanders Spyro's Adventure™. The offer gives fans aged 13+ an exclusive online mini-game experience and the chance to win a free Skylanders action figure available with the purchase of specially marked Frito-Lay Multipack Classic Mix, Multipack Flavor Mix, or Multipack Adventure Mix variety packs of snacks. The first phase of the promotion starts April 2, 2012 and extends through May 5, 2012, with products available for purchase at participating retail stores nationwide, while supplies last.

As part of the promotion, specially-marked Frito-Lay Multipacks, which are targeted primarily to parents, will include a unique 8-digit alpha-numeric code to be redeemed online, unlocking an exclusive online mini-game, Skylanders Spyro's Universe(SM), to be enjoyed with their families. Additionally, fans who redeem codes could win additional prizes. Consumers are encouraged to check out specially marked Frito-Lay Multipack variety packs for details.

The popular game is a first-of-its-kind cross-platform experience that allows players to bring their action figures to life through battles, puzzles and treasure hunts with a line of more than 30 characters to collect. The characters remember their previous in-game experiences, traveling seamlessly between physical locations and across platforms including Nintendo Wii™, Xbox 360™ and PlayStation®3 and even on Macs and PCs.  The game is rated E10+ by the Entertainment Software Rating Board (ESRB).
