Pepsi Beverages Company Finalizes Acquisition of California Bottler

SOMERS, N.Y., April 19 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Pepsi Beverages Company, a division of PepsiCo, Inc. (NYSE: PEP), today announced that it has completed its acquisition of Pepsi-Cola Bottling Co. of Yuba City, Inc.  Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

The Yuba City, CA-based company is a Pepsi-Cola franchised bottler serving parts of northern California.

While PepsiCo continues to work in close partnership with scores of franchised bottlers across the U.S., PBC acquired the company as part of its ongoing practice of acquiring franchises that become available as a means to build scale and efficiency in its company-owned bottling operations.

Plans for the acquisition were previously announced by The Pepsi Bottling Group (PBG), which PepsiCo acquired – along with PepsiAmericas -- in February to form Pepsi Beverages Company.  The mergers are intended to offer a unique set of strategic advantages which will provide the greatest benefits in North America and Europe, where the bottlers have operations.
