New Tostitos Artisan Recipes Grilled Red Pepper And Tomato Salsa Flavored Tortilla Chips Bring Adventure To Snacking
Americans say food is about the experience as much as the taste

PLANO, Texas, Feb. 21, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- According to a recent study, the desire for new flavors and food styles is about adventure and experience as much as it is about actual taste[1]. Today's launch of Tostitos Artisan Recipes Grilled Red Pepper and Tomato Salsa flavored tortilla chips highlights that desire. The fifth and latest flavor in the Tostitos Artisan Recipes line from PepsiCo's Frito-Lay division, the new chip draws inspiration from the layered flavors of a rich Mexican mole sauce. The result is a true culinary adventure in every bag.

Tostitos Artisan Recipes Grilled Red Pepper and Tomato Salsa flavored tortilla chips are made with a nine-grain blend and real ingredients like ancho chile, smoked paprika, garlic, and onion with roasted red bell pepper, sundried tomato and lime, that are mixed in before cooking for a truly unique flavor consumers can see and taste. Like all Tostitos Artisan Recipes tortilla chips, they have eight grams of whole grains per one ounce serving.

"When developing new flavors for the Tostitos Artisan Recipes line, we look at culinary trends, knowing that our consumer is on top of what's new, but also looking for easy ways to incorporate the latest flavor trends into their snacks," said Jody Denton, executive chef at Frito-Lay's Flavor Kitchen, the company's culinary research and development center. "With the new Tostitos Artisan Recipes Grilled Red Pepper and Tomato Salsa flavored chips we've developed something complex and adventurous, which also happens to be the perfect snack to unwind with at the end of the day."

The Tostitos Artisan Recipes brand was originally introduced in late 2010 with Roasted Garlic & Black Bean and Fire-Roasted Chipotle flavors. In 2012, two additional flavors were added – Baked Three Cheese Queso and Toasted Southwestern Spices. New Tostitos Artisan Recipes Grilled Red Pepper and Tomato Salsa flavored tortilla chips are now available nationwide in a 9 3/4 oz. bag for a suggested retail price of $3.99 per bag.
