Quaker Oats, NFL PLAY 60 and Andrew Luck Celebrate Healthy Habits at Super Bowl XLVII
Quaker Honors NFL PLAY 60 Super Bowl Contest Winner and hosts "Epic Adventure" at NFL Experience

CHICAGO, Jan. 30, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- The Quaker Oats Company, a subsidiary of PepsiCo, Inc., along with NFL PLAY 60 and NFL rookie quarterback Andrew Luck congratulate Hunter Paulin of Washington D.C. as the grand prize winner of the NFL Play 60 Super Bowl Contest presented by Quaker. Paulin is kicking off his Super Bowl adventure this morning by joining Luck at Kids' Day at NFL Experience Driven by GMC, where Luck will introduce him to New Orleans-area kids during a Quaker Oatmeal breakfast event before they run football drills. Together, Luck and Paulin will encourage kids to eat right, stay active and serve as healthy living role models, which is how Paulin won the contest.

Thousands of kids nationwide entered the contest by sharing how they are inspired by their NFL role models, stay active with family, and eat right to help power their play. Paulin, age 10, was selected as "NFL PLAY 60 Super Kid" and recognized by NFL players in his hometown in December. As the grand prize winner of the Super Bowl Contest presented by Quaker, Hunter is attending Super Bowl XLVII with his family and will have the adventure of a lifetime – running the game ball onto the field just before kickoff in front of millions of fans.

"Quaker is proud to support the NFL PLAY 60 Super Bowl Contest, and we are extremely inspired by Hunter's commitment to a healthy, active lifestyle," said Justin Lambeth, Chief Marketing Officer for Quaker Oats. "Through Quaker's whole grain oats, support of NFL PLAY 60 and role models like Andrew Luck and Hunter, we are giving families the fuel they need to help get them going as they tackle everyday adventures."

Paulin has incredible enthusiasm for staying active despite a heart condition that may have limited someone with less determination. He enjoys daily activities such as bike riding, swimming and playing tennis and encourages his family and friends to get involved as well. He also puts an emphasis on eating the right foods like whole grain oats, low fat milk, fruits and vegetables and recognizes how they provide him with healthy fuel to exercise on a daily basis, making him a great inspiration to others.

With less than one percent of kids getting the daily recommended amount of whole grains in their diets1, Quaker is continuing to develop new product that give families even more options for getting their whole grain oats. New Quaker Perfect Portions is a perfect example – it is a customizable instant oatmeal that comes in a convenient, multiserve package that allows moms to make a little or make a lot and sweeten to their liking because there is no added sugar. Additionally, Quaker is supporting programs like NFL PLAY 60 which bring physical activity education to America's youth. In September, Quaker teamed up with first-year NFL quarterback Andrew Luck to help NFL PLAY 60 launch their Super Bowl contest, which is now in its sixth year and aims to inspire kids to eat right and stay active so that they can continue healthy habits into adulthood.

"Although Hunter has had to deal with a lot of health challenges, his perseverance and commitment to nourishing food and physical activity really stood out among the entries," said NFL rookie quarterback and Quaker spokesperson Andrew Luck. "It's been so rewarding to team up with organizations like Quaker and NFL PLAY 60 to celebrate inspiring kids like Hunter and help motivate families to embrace healthy changes that can make a difference for a lifetime."

As the official Hot Cereal Sponsor of the NFL, Quaker will help provide healthy fuel and fun at Super Bowl XLVII's NFL Experience Driven by GMC. Quaker is bringing imagination to life through an oversized Epic Adventure obstacle course that tests agility, accuracy and speed across multiple activity stations featuring larger-than-life representations of your favorite Quaker products. Quaker aims to complement the goals of NFL PLAY 60 by continuing to make nourishing, whole grain oats that help give kids the healthy fuel they want to partake in active play.
