AMP Energy's Winter Action Sports Program Expands to Include Sponsorship of the US Open Snowboarding Championships and Canadian Open Snowboarding Championships

PURCHASE, N.Y. – February 17, 2009 - AMP Energy has joined forces with Burton to sponsor the 27 th Annual US Open Snowboarding Championships at Stratton Mountain , Vermont , March 16-22, 2009 . AMP Energy will also sponsor the multiple-stop Burton Am Series, Burton Demo Tour and Burton World Tour, and recently sponsored the Canadian Open Snowboarding Championships.

US Open Snowboarding Championships

The US Open is the grand finale of the competitive snowboard season, drawing the world's top riders to compete for prestigious titles and impressive prize purses. As the final event in the third annual Burton Global Open Series, the US Open is the competitors' last chance to make a play for the women's and men's 2009 BGOS championship title, each worth $100,000 – the largest single payout in competitive snowboarding today. And the US Open is honored to be the event where TTR crowns the men's Swatch TTR World Tour Champion.

AMP Energy will have a strong presence supporting the televised event, including television, radio, print and online advertising. The brand will also be showcased in event signage, program content, and onsite via a branded experiential product sampling booth.

In addition to the relationship with Burton , AMP also recently announced the expansion of its winter action sports athlete program. Snowboarders Keir Dillon and Kevin Pearce will join riders Hannah Teter and Mason Aguirre in 2009 under the AMP Energy banner.
