Feed the Children and PepsiCo Unite to Fight Childhood Hunger in Phoenix, Arizona
Nonprofits and Corporations Band Together to Help 800 Families

PHOENIX, Dec. 11, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- PepsiCo joined Feed the Children, Phoenix Rescue Mission and the Salvation Army today to lend a hand to 800 Phoenix-area families in need, providing them with food and daily essentials. The event took place at First Christian Church, 6750 N. 7th Ave., from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Together, Feed the Children and PepsiCo provided enough supplemental food and necessities to help support a family of four for up to a week:

  • 25-lb. box of food
  • 10-lb. box of essentials
  • Box of AVON products
  • Frito-Lay Snacks
  • Pepsi Beverages
  • Children's Toys from JAKKS
  • Children's Books from Disney & First Book

"PepsiCo is committed to ending hunger in the communities where we work and live. This is our third year to partner with Feed the Children in Phoenix and we're excited to be here to support those in need of food and daily essentials," said Nick Burge, Region Marketing Manager, Frito-Lay.

The event is one of many Feed the Children has planned across the country to help families in need. In Phoenix alone, nearly 23 percent of families live below the poverty line. Often, these children are unsure of where they will find their next meal.

"Feed the Children is proud to partner with PepsiCo today," said Travis Arnold, Feed the Children Interim CEO/President and COO. "We know that when we combine our efforts, we will have a greater impact on the lives of families who need us most--right here in America."
