Feed the Children and PepsiCo Unite To Fight Childhood Hunger in Ft. Lauderdale
Nonprofits and Corporations Band Together to Help 800 Families

FT. LAUDERDALE, Fla., Oct. 15, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- PepsiCo joined Feed the Children and Joshua's Heart on October 15 to lend a hand to 800 Ft. Lauderdale families in need, providing them with food and daily essentials. The event took place at the Joseph C. Carter Park, 1450 W. Sunrise Blvd, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Together, Feed the Children and PepsiCo provided enough supplemental food and essentials to help support a family of four for up to a week, including:

  • 25-lb. box of food
  • 10-lb. box of essentials
  • Box of AVON products
  • PepsiCo snacks

"PepsiCo is committed to ending hunger in the communities where we work and live. This is our second year to partner with Feed the Children in Ft. Lauderdale and we're excited to be here to support those in need of food and daily essentials," said Carlos Canizares, Zone Sales Director, Palm Beach Zone.

The event is one of many Feed the Children has planned across the country to help families in need. In Ft. Lauderdale alone, almost 21 percent of families live below the poverty line. Often, these children are unsure of where they will find their next meal.

"Today, we are not only providing food and necessities to these families—but also hope," said Travis Arnold, Feed the Children Interim CEO/President and COO. "Hope for a better future that is made possible thanks to our partners at PepsiCo and Joshua's Heart who play a vital role in helping us create a world where no child goes to bed hungry."
