Feed the Children and PepsiCo Unite to Fight Childhood Hunger in Rochester, New York
Nonprofits and Corporations Band Together to Help 800 Families

ROCHESTER, N.Y., Aug. 12, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- PepsiCo and Tops Markets joined Feed the Children and Catholic Family Center today to lend a hand to 800 Rochester families in need, providing them with food and daily essentials. The event took place at Frontier Field at One Morrie Silver Way in Rochester, NY.

Together, Feed the Children and PepsiCo provided enough supplemental food and necessities to help support a family of four for up to a week:

  • 25 pounds of food
  • 10 pounds of necessities
  • A box of AVON products
  • Frito Lay Snacks
  • Quaker Standard Grits
  • Quaker Chewy Granola Bars
  • Rice-a-Roni Chicken Mix
  • Lipton Ice Tea
  • Aquafina water
  • Peanut Butter, Potatoes and Canned Soup donated by Tops Markets

The event is one of many that Feed the Children has planned across the country, so that instead of worrying about having enough to eat, thousands of kids can just be kids this summer. In Rochester alone, nearly 33 percent of families live below the poverty line. Often, these children are unsure of where they will find their next meal.
